BICHSAC is a composite of representatives from Bruny Island community service groups, volunteer services and health providers;  it meets every one or two months at the Community Health Centre to appraise Bruny’s current and future health status and delivery.

Membership:

  1. Health service delivery: Bruny Nursing; Huon Medical

  2. Government representation: Tasmanian Health head office; Kingborough Council; Bruny District School

  3. Volunteer Service groups: Bruny Ambulance volunteers; Bruny SES

  4. Community organizations: BICA, CWA; Health Auxiliary; Bruny Respite Care Group; Men’s Shed.

This committee relies upon community input for reporting of, and recommending about health issues, and to achieve this invites attendance of any keenly involved Bruny residents. BICHSAC’s Minutes of Meetings are posted on the BICA website, and a regular report is submitted to the Bruny News. Anyone wishing to contribute to BICHSAC should simply contact one of the member groups to arrange an agenda item or Committee Meeting attendance.
